Landing Pages Are Not Just another Home Page?

Marketers and advertisers new to the web often do not understand that promoting a website is more than building up a great home page. Depending on the promotion, be it seasonal, monthly, or once-in-a-lifetime, it is important to build a number of secondary webpages that are constructed for a single purpose: otherwise known as a landing page.

When marketers ask me, “what is a landing page?” I simply point out to them the fact that they never before tried to do everything with a single page flier, right? So why should we expect a single webpage to do the same?

Landing pages are also great for search engine optimization. Because the keywords and topics are more narrowly focused, a landing page has a better chance for having good visibility in the search engines for specific search terms.
