The eyelid surgery is a fairly different type of cosmetic surgery due to its location close to the eyes. The surgery while quick can take a while to recover from if you fail to follow the surgeon’s suggestions completely. For starters, immediately following the eyelid surgery, the surgeon will apply a lubricating ointment to the lids that were worked on followed by a cold compress and lightly wrapped sterile gauze.
The cold compress will help to reduce the swelling as much as possible while at the same time the gauze needs to be loose to allow the eyelids to perform as the were intended to. Furthermore since the eyelids are allowed to perform normally following the eyelid surgery, the lubricating ointment is needed to prevent any possible complications associated with the surgery and the materials used to close the incisions.
It will be important to remember to keep your head elevated all night on the first night following the eyelid surgery to keep the blood flow to the region at a minimum as a means of preventing any bruising which will still occur anyway. The important thing is preventing any type of bleeding as this can cause a vision impairment.
The incision scars will first be red and bumpy and highly noticeable but with a short period of time this scar tissue should start to flatten out and fade to a fairly normal skin tone before becoming a fine line. The swelling and discoloration around the eye socket will fade away within the first week or so assuming that you are staying well rested and keeping your head elevated the entire time.
Refraining from any activity that can cause your eyes to dry out is very important as the moisture is needed more at this point then during normal times. This means no using the computer, reading books or watching any type of shows that require your undivided attention as this too can cause dryness of the eyes.

Acne is an unfortunate vanity problem for many people all over the world. Luckily, in the vein societies around the world today, we have developed a large defense of products that work well against acne. There are many things to try from creams, to dermalogical procedures, to pills. The variety is endless.
Starting with the creams available, the best acne treatment in this department is anything with the active ingredient salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in the lable. Alcohol and sulfer are also very efficient for combating acne, and these are active ingredients to look for as well. Salicylic acid helps to kill bacteria in the pores. Benzoyl peroxide clears out the pores. Alcohol is only recommended for users who have very oily skin, because it can dry out skin. Sulfur, although no one is sure how it works, is very good for skin and cleans pours well.
If you find yourself in the dermatologist office for severe acne they may remove acne with an in office procedure. This procedure is known as acne surgery. This is a safe way to get rid of pimples because it is done within a sterile environment and all precautions are taken to insure that scarring of the skin does not take place.
If this seems scary, however, you need long term relief from the severe acne you suffer from, a pill may be prescribed to take care of this problem. This is only used is severe cases however, because the pills may have side effects associated with them. In some cases a simple birth control pill may be prescribed to help regulate hormones if this is the cause of the acne. However if this does not help, there are other pills that may be taken to help control and rid a person of acne. However, some side effects may occur. Accutane for instance, is a poor candidate for a pregnant woman because it can cause birth defects in the fetus, it can in severe cases even cause liver dysfunction in some of its users. So it is very important to think carefully about the side effects that a pill has and determine whether or not it is worth getting rid of acne to deal with these side effects.
